Maison Bleue celebrates French haute cuisine in the prestigious international one day event Goût de France.

The award-wining French Modern fine dining restaurant was selected for the renowned international Gout de France celebration, representing East Anglia, UK.

The atmosphere was full of fun and guests loved the detail Maison Bleue is renowned for, setting the scene to create the perfect French backdrop for  another superb event in the heart of heritage Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk.

Chef-Restaurateur Pascal Canevet created a French gastronomic celebration Dinner serving a spectacle of fine French cuisine alongside renowned Michelin starred restaurant’s such as Raymond Blanc’s Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons, Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester together with Brasserie Joel, and Escoffier. In addition to the participating restaurants, French embassies around the world hosted celebration dinners.

Brittany born Pascal Canevet created an innovative five course menu paired with French wines. His delicious menu was inspired by traditional haute cuisine recipes from the renowned Edwardian cookery book Le Guide Culinaire by Auguste Escoffier using locally sourced produce including Roasted ballotine of Norfolk black chicken, duxelle, sauce foie gras, tarragon and frogs’ legs.

Seasonal, locally sourced produce is a passion of mine and I loved adding a local twist to traditional Escofferier French recipes. I really enjoyed creating the celebration Goût de France menu”

The Maison Bleue team, incidentally all French and Swiss trained, entered into the spirit of the evening sporting French Breton striped tops and jaunty scarves; decorating the restaurant with a traditional 1940’s pushbike, onions and grapes creating the perfect backdrop to what was an exceptional event.

Over 60 guests enjoyed the spirit of the occasion at Maison Bleue with a fizz reception, and live French musical entertainment.

The event sold out within days but rest assured Maison Bleue will be celebrating Gout de France again in the New Year.
