We enjoyed a superb exclusive dinner event on 2 May 2018.
The Exclusive Glenelly Estate Wine Dinner was hosted by our guest Nicolas Bureau, the grandson of May de Lencquesaing, previous owner of Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, from Glenelly Estate Stellenboch, with Tim Ferguson from Promotion Wines.
A fabulous story, and family legacy Nicolas shared his families history and how at the age of 73 his grandmother purchased the estate, and set about planting vines. Her vision, passion and families legacy come together celebrating 250 years in the wine history with the 1783 stamp proudly certifying each Glenelly Estate bottle.
It was a unique opportunity to enjoy fabulous wines from a world class Estate paired with a superb five-course gastronomic menu by chef-patron Pascal Canevet.
There certainly was a party atmosphere and we’ve had such a wonderful response. Thank you for joining us and for all your wonderful support – we are so glad you enjoyed the evening.
“Since my childhood in the heart of Bordeaux’ finest vineyards till today, I have travelled the world and discovered the amazing diversity of terroirs. On my first visit to Stellenbosch I knew that this was where I wanted to fulfil my dream of starting a new adventure outside of France. In 2003, and after visiting many vineyards, I recognised the amazing potential of Glenelly Estate. I also believed in continuing the French heritage of wine making in South Africa going back more than three centuries. My vision is to establish Glenelly as a world-class estate, producing award-winning wines with power, elegance and balance.” – Lady May de Lencquesaing
We look forward to entertaining you
