Chef-Patron Pascal and Karine Canevet announced this week they have chosen Suffolk GeeWizz Charitable Trust as their charity of the year. Long standing supporters of the local charity, they have already raised significant funds for GeeWizz with their coveted annual auction prize gastronomic dinners raising thousands of pounds and regular unique events at Maison Bleue.
GeeWizz focuses on providing specialist equipment to children and young adults up to the age of 21, living in Suffolk and Norfolk and with life-threatening conditions, a disability or cancer. Last year Maison Bleue together with Lacy Scott and Knight raised enough funds to purchase much needed sensory equipment for Riverwalk School in Bury St Edmunds.
“We would like to say a big thank you to Maison Bleue for choosing GeeWizz Charitable Trust as their charity of the year and for their long-standing commitment, they have supported us from day one and we are all so very grateful” commented GeeWizz Executive Manager Crystal Barber.
Money raised via events, and from donations received at the award-wining restaurant Maison Bleue, Bury St Edmunds, will be used to benefit local children and young adults in Norfolk and Suffolk.
Maison Bleue’s events are highly regarded and continue to pin point the social calendar with innovative and inspirational evenings, attracting international and national custom.
“We have a number of unique events in the pipeline to support the charity. GeeWizz transparent giving is extremely important to us because we can see first-hand how the money raised directly supports people in our local community.” – Patron Karine Canevet
The Maison Bleue team intend to enhance their fundraising with business affiliations and have already received a great response from customers.
“ We are overwhelmed and humbled by our customers generosity and support” commented chef patron Pascal Canevet
